Picking Overview

The Picking feature lets you fulfill customer orders by picking products from warehouse locations. You can work with individual shipments, pick by product, or pick by location. The app guides you through each pick and helps you pack items correctly.

Picking is the process of selecting products from warehouse locations to fulfill customer orders. The Picking feature combines picking and packing operations, letting you pick products and prepare them for shipping in one workflow.

Main purpose:

  • Fulfill customer orders by picking products
  • Track which products come from which bins
  • Pack items into boxes or containers
  • Handle serial numbers and special requirements
  • Work efficiently with batch picking options

Fulfill Orders Fast

Pick products quickly with clear instructions. The app shows you exactly what to pick and where to find it.

Multiple Picking Modes

Choose the best mode for your workflow: pick by shipment, by product, or by location. Each mode fits different warehouse needs.

Accurate Tracking

From the login screen, sign in with your credentials. You’ll see the main menu with all available features.

  2. Select Pick and Pack

Tap the Pick and Pack icon in the main menu. The app checks your user permissions and opens the Picking screen.

The Picking feature offers three main modes:

How it works:

  • Complete the entire order before moving to the next

Best for: Standard order fulfillment, one order at a time

Hint: “Scan or enter Shipping#“

How it works:

  • Scan or enter Product ID, SKU, or UPC
  • See all orders that need that product
  • Pick the product for multiple orders at once

Best for: Efficient picking when the same product appears in multiple orders

Hint: “Scan or enter ProductId, Sku, UPC”

How it works:

  • Scan or enter a Location
  • See all products at that location that need to be picked
  • Pick all products from that location for all orders

Best for: Zone-based picking, picking by warehouse area

Hint: “Scan or enter Location”

The picking process follows these steps:

  1. Choose your mode: Select Shipments, Products, or Locations from the toolbar
  2. Load orders: Scan or enter Shipping#, Product ID, or Location
  3. View pick list: See all products that need to be picked
  4. Pick products:
    • Go to the bin location shown
    • Scan or enter the bin to verify
    • Enter the quantity picked
    • Confirm the pick
  5. Pack items: Assign items to boxes or containers
  6. Complete: Finish picking and move to the next order or product

Enable batch picking to work on multiple orders at once. This lets you:

  • Pick products for several orders in one trip
  • Group similar picks together
  • Work more efficiently through your pick list

If products require serial numbers:

  • Scan each serial number as you pick
  • The app verifies serial numbers are correct
  • Track which serials go with which orders

The app helps you verify bins:

  • Scan or enter the bin location
  • The app confirms it’s the correct bin
  • Shows available quantity in that bin

If you have unfinished picking work:

  • The pending work icon appears in the toolbar
  • Tap it to see incomplete picks
  • Resume work where you left off

Your picking capacity is shown in the toolbar. This helps you:

  • Know how much you can pick
  • Track your progress
  • Manage workload efficiently

When you complete a pick:

  1. The app records the pick with:

    • Bin location
    • Quantity picked
    • Timestamp
    • Your user ID
  2. Products are marked as picked in the system

  3. You can then:

    • Pack items into boxes
    • Move to the next pick
    • Complete the order
  4. Data syncs with the server to update inventory

Verify Bin Locations

Always scan or verify the bin location before picking. Make sure you’re at the correct location to avoid picking errors.

Check Quantities

Double-check quantities before confirming picks. Make sure the quantity matches what you actually picked.

Use the Right Mode

Choose the picking mode that fits your workflow. Shipments for orders, Products for efficiency, Locations for zone picking.

Complete Serial Tracking

If products require serial numbers, scan all serials before completing the pick. This ensures accurate tracking.

Work Through Pending Items

Check pending work regularly. Complete unfinished picks before starting new ones to keep your work organized.

Use Bluetooth Scanner

Connect a Bluetooth scanner for faster picking. Scanning is much faster than typing codes manually.
