Settings Overview

The Settings in Shipedge Warehouse Pro let you configure your warehouse connection and preferences. Settings are stored locally on your device and control how the app connects to your warehouse server and behaves during operations.

Most settings are configured during initial setup, but you can change them if needed. Proper settings ensure the app connects correctly to your warehouse and works as expected.

Settings appear automatically in two situations:

  1. First-time setup: When you open the app for the first time, a settings window appears asking for warehouse information.

  2. No settings found: If the app can’t find saved settings, it shows the settings window again.

You cannot skip the settings window on first use - you must enter warehouse information to continue.

The settings window has three buttons:

  • Signup: Opens the Shipedge signup page in your browser.

  • Cancel: Closes the settings window. If you haven’t configured settings before, a message appears saying “The first time should insert name of warehouse” and you must configure settings to continue.

  • Proceed: Saves your settings and verifies them with the server. This button is enabled after you enter the warehouse name.

The app stores these settings in a local database:

  • Warehouse name: Your warehouse identifier
  • Warehouse key: Authentication key
  • External order: Whether external order integration is enabled (Y/N)
  • Tray: Tray number for quality control (set by server after login)
  • Capacity: Capacity setting (set by server after login)
  • Login date: Date of last login

Settings are stored locally on your device. Each device needs its own configuration.

You can configure multiple warehouses on the same device:

  • Each warehouse is stored separately in the settings database
  • Only one warehouse can be active at a time
  • When you switch warehouses, the app sets the new one to ON and others to OFF
  • The app remembers warehouse keys for warehouses you’ve used before

To change your warehouse settings:

  1. Clear app data

Go to device Settings → Apps → Shipedge Warehouse Pro → Storage → Clear Data.

  2. Reopen the app

    The settings window appears again.

  3. Enter new settings

Enter your new warehouse name, key, and external order preference.

  4. Save and verify

Tap Proceed to save and verify the new settings.

Some modules store their own preferences using SharedPreferences:

  • Load & Move: Remembers category selections and location preferences
  • Module-specific: Each module may remember your last selections or preferences

These preferences are separate from warehouse settings and don’t affect your warehouse connection.

After you save settings, the app verifies them by:

  1. Connecting to https://[warehouse].shipedge.com
  2. Sending your warehouse name, key, and device serial number
  3. Receiving confirmation and user permissions from the server

If verification fails, you’ll see an error message:

  • “No connection to internet or error on warehouse name” - Check your internet connection and warehouse name
  • “Error please try again” - Server error, try again later

Keep settings accurate

Double-check your warehouse name and key before saving. Incorrect settings prevent the app from connecting.

Contact administrator

If you don’t know your warehouse key, contact your warehouse administrator. They can provide the correct key.

Default external order setting

Most users should leave external order integration set to “No” unless specifically required for integrations.

Backup before clearing

Before clearing app data to change settings, make sure you’ve synced important work to the server.

Problem: You tap Cancel but the settings window stays open or shows a message.

Solution: You must configure settings at least once. Enter warehouse name and key, then tap Proceed. You cannot skip initial setup.

Problem: You see “No connection to internet or error on warehouse name” after tapping Proceed.

Solutions:

  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify the warehouse name is correct (case-sensitive)
  • Verify the warehouse key is correct
  • Contact your administrator to confirm your warehouse is active
  • Try again after a few minutes

Problem: Settings disappear after updating the app.

Solution: This shouldn’t happen normally. If it does:

  • Settings are stored in local database and should persist through updates
  • If settings are lost, reconfigure them using the steps above
  • Contact support if the problem continues

Problem: You need to reconfigure but don’t remember your warehouse key.

Solution:

  • Contact your warehouse administrator
  • They can provide your warehouse key
  • If you’ve used the warehouse on this device before, the key may auto-fill when you enter the warehouse name
