Momentum Process

The Momentum process lets you create new SKUs and manage product transfers between accounts. You’ll work through a complete workflow: enter SKU, select template, choose account, add description, create bin, and perform inventory recount.

This guide walks you through each step of the process from start to finish.

The Momentum process follows this workflow:

  1. Enter or scan SKU - Type or scan the SKU code
  2. Select template - Choose a template or create a new one
  3. Select account - Choose the account for this SKU
  4. Add description - Type or select from template words
  5. Create bin - Enter bin location
  6. Enter quantity - Set initial inventory quantity
  7. View details - Review the created SKU and bin information

Start by entering the SKU code for the new product.

  1. Open the Momentum module

    From the main menu, tap Momentum. The new SKU layout opens with an empty SKU field at the top.

  2. Enter the SKU

    You can enter the SKU in two ways:

    Option A: Camera Scanner

    • Tap the camera icon next to the SKU field
    • Scan the barcode with the device camera
    • The value is entered automatically

    Option B: Keyboard Entry

    • Type the SKU code manually
    • Press Enter or tap OK after entering
  3. Verify the SKU

    Make sure the SKU code is correct before proceeding. The field shows “Enter or scan sku” as a hint.

Templates contain pre-configured product specifications. Select an existing template or create a new one.

  1. View available templates

    Below the SKU field, you’ll see a grid of template images. Each template represents a set of product specifications.

  2. Select an existing template

    Tap a template image to select it. The template’s specifications are applied:

    • Weight
    • Length
    • Height
    • Width
    • Declared value
    • Cost
    • Description
  3. Create a new template (optional)

    Tap the “New” template (usually shows an add icon):

    • A template creation window opens
    • Enter all required fields (weight, length, height, width, declared, cost, description)
    • Tap Save to create the template
    • The new template is saved and can be reused
  4. Delete a template (optional)

    Long-press a template image to delete it:

    • A dialog appears with delete option
    • Confirm deletion
    • Template is removed from the system

Template image:

  • Optional image for visual identification
  • Can be taken with camera or selected from gallery
  • Can be rotated before saving

After saving the SKU, select the account that will own this product.

  1. Select an account

    Tap the account spinner to see available accounts:

    • Accounts are loaded from the server
    • Select the account for this SKU
    • The account name appears in the spinner
  2. Account validation

    The system checks if the account is available:

    • If the account is already in use, you’ll see “Please select another account”
    • The account list refreshes automatically
    • Select a different account if needed

Add a product description using template words or by typing manually.

  1. View description field

    Below the account spinner, you’ll see a description field with a delete icon on the right.

  2. Add description

    You can add a description in three ways:

    Option A: Type manually

    • Tap the description field
    • Type the description text
    • Use the device keyboard

    Option B: Use template words

    • Scroll through the template words list below
    • Tap words or phrases to add them
    • Tap “Add item” to create new template words

    Option C: Combine both

    • Type some text manually
    • Tap template words to add more
    • Words are appended with a space
  3. Clear description (if needed)

    Tap the delete icon (X) on the right side of the description field to clear it.

  4. Add template words (optional)

    Tap Add item in the template words list:

    • A dialog opens to add new template words
    • Enter the word or phrase
    • Tap OK to save
    • The new word appears in the template words list

After saving the SKU, create a bin location for inventory storage.

  1. Update SKU (if needed)

    If you added description or images, tap Next to update the SKU:

    • App shows “Updating sku…” message
    • SKU is updated with new information
    • Bin creation screen appears
  2. View bin creation screen

    The bin to new SKU layout appears with:

    • Bin field (text input with camera icon)
    • Quantity field (number input)
    • Plus (+) and minus (-) buttons
    • Send button
  3. Enter bin location

    Enter or scan the bin location:

    • Scan: Use camera to scan bin barcode
    • Type: Enter bin location manually
  4. Verify bin availability

    The system checks if the bin is available:

    • If bin is not available, you’ll see “Bin not available”
    • Enter a different bin location
  5. Enter volume (if required)

    If volume inventory is required:

    • Volume inventory dialog appears
    • Enter volume value (must be at least 0.1)
    • Tap OK to confirm
    • Bin creation continues

Set the initial inventory quantity for the new SKU in the bin.

  1. View quantity field

    On the bin creation screen, you’ll see a quantity field with plus (+) and minus (-) buttons.

  2. Enter quantity

    You can set quantity in two ways:

    Option A: Type manually

    • Tap the quantity field
    • Type the number
    • Use the device keyboard

    Option B: Use plus/minus buttons

    • Tap + to increase quantity
    • Tap - to decrease quantity
    • Quantity updates automatically
  3. Validate quantity

    Make sure quantity is:

    • Greater than 0
    • A valid number
    • Matches physical inventory
  4. Send quantity

    After entering bin and quantity, tap Send button:

    • App shows “Please wait” message
    • System creates bin and performs recount
    • Processes inventory update

After successful bin creation and recount, view the complete SKU and bin details.

  1. View details screen

    The details layout appears showing:

    • Company/Account name
    • SKU code
    • Quantity
    • UPC (if available)
    • Description
    • Bin location
    • Product ID
    • Location
    • Product image (if added)
  2. Review information

    Verify all details are correct:

    • SKU matches what you entered
    • Quantity is correct
    • Bin location is accurate
    • Account is correct
  3. Choose next action

    Three buttons are available:

    • New SKU: Create another new SKU
    • Same SKU: Create another bin for the same SKU
    • Done: Return to main menu

You can add product images at any point during the process.

  1. Access image options

    Tap the Add picture icon in the menu bar (camera/image icon).

  2. Choose image source

    A dialog appears with options:

    • Camera: Take a photo with device camera
    • Gallery: Select an existing image
  3. Take photo (if camera)

    If selecting camera:

    • Camera opens
    • Take photo of the product
  4. Select from gallery (if gallery)

    If selecting gallery:

    • Gallery opens
    • Browse and select an image
  5. Preview and rotate (if needed)

    Preview window appears:

    • Review the image
    • Tap rotate icon to rotate if needed
    • Tap OK to use the image
    • Tap Cancel to try again
  6. Save image

    Tap OK to save the image:

    • Image is uploaded to server
    • Associated with the SKU
    • Appears in details screen

Use Templates for Common Products

Create templates for products you add frequently. This saves time and ensures consistency in product specifications.

Scan Instead of Typing

Use a camera to scan SKU codes and bin locations. This reduces errors and speeds up data entry.

Verify SKU Doesn't Exist

The system checks if a SKU already exists. If it does, you’ll see options to use the existing SKU or create it in another account.

Add Product Images

Include product images to help warehouse staff identify products quickly. Images can be taken with the camera or selected from gallery.

Use Template Words

Build descriptions using template words for consistency. Create reusable words and phrases for common product descriptions.

Verify Details Before Finishing

Always review the details screen before finishing. Make sure SKU, quantity, bin location, and account are all correct.

Problem: After entering a SKU, you see an alert saying the SKU already exists.

Solution: The alert shows which accounts already have this SKU. You can:

  • Select an existing account from the list to use that SKU
  • Choose “Another account” to create the SKU in a different account
  • Cancel to go back and enter a different SKU

Problem: You see “First select a template or create a new template” when trying to save.

Solution: You must select a template before saving a SKU. Tap one of the template images in the grid, or create a new template by selecting the “New” template option.

Problem: You see “Please select an account” message.

Solution: Make sure you’ve selected an account from the dropdown spinner before proceeding. The account field is required to save a SKU.

Problem: You see “Please, typing a description” message.

Solution: Enter a description for the product. You can type it manually or select words from the template words list below the description field.

Problem: You see “Bin not available” message when creating a bin.

Solution: The bin location you entered may already be in use or invalid. Try a different bin location or verify the bin code is correct.
